📖 Description
Vintage 1980 Star Wars Burger King 3-Panel Trading Card professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA as PSA Authentic, certification number 149549755.
The visible PSA slab label reads: “1980 STAR WARS DEFENDER/LUKE/WALKERS AUTHENTIC BURGER KING-PANEL” with certification number 149549755.
This intact Burger King 3-panel strip features three connected Star Wars panels with visible printed front captions:
“THE DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM !”
“LUKE’S TRAINING”
“THE IMPERIAL SNOW WALKERS !”
The panels show highly recognizable original trilogy imagery, including Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill; Princess Leia, played by Carrie Fisher; Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford; Chewbacca, played by Peter Mayhew; and Yoda, performed and voiced by Frank Oz. The “Luke’s Training” panel captures Luke’s Jedi training with Yoda on Dagobah, while the snow battle panel highlights the Imperial Snow Walkers / AT-ATs from the Hoth battle sequence. Together, the three connected panels give the piece strong display appeal for collectors who enjoy classic character imagery, Jedi training scenes, and Empire Strikes Back-era snow battle visuals.
This card was part of the Burger King Everybody Wins trading card game format. The back text visible on the card includes:
“STAR WARS THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK”
“EVERYBODY WINS™ TRADING CARDS”
“There are 36 Different Trading Cards in the Everybody Wins™ Game, so you can save them or trade them with your friends.”
“Play Everybody Wins™ again the next time you visit BURGER KING®. Game ends July 30, 1981 or when game card supplies run out.”
“™ ©Lucasfilm, Ltd. (LFL) 1980 All rights reserved. / Advertising format and contents owned by Burger King Corporation. Printed in U.S.A.”
“K-3578/Coca-Cola and Coke are registered trade-marks which identify the same product of The Coca-Cola Company.”
The back also shows Burger King and Coca-Cola logos. This example is especially appealing because it remains in its intact 3-panel perforated strip format rather than being separated into individual panels. Intact 3-panel examples can be harder to locate in graded form because many surviving examples were separated at the perforations into individual cards. Population data should be reviewed separately, but intact graded 3-panel examples are a distinct collecting format compared with separated single panels.
A strong vintage Star Wars Burger King piece with recognizable characters, actor-connected original trilogy appeal, original store-distributed Everybody Wins game context, PSA encapsulation, and excellent display value for an organized Star Wars trading card collection.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU….. ALWAYS!
